A retainer simply assists your company to meet certain obligations under health, safety, environmental & further associated legislation by providing a group of services into one package. Our health and safety retainer service gives business owners and employers confidence that they have support if needed. With the ever-changing legislative requirements coupled with the increased activity of the Health and Safety Executive, we aim to deliver peace of mind to Directors and Managers across all business sectors in this key area of compliance.

Regulation 7 of the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations requires employers to manage health and safety and have access to competent advice. Under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, all employers have a duty to manage health & safety. It is therefore up to management to make sure that someone within the organisation is “Competent” to undertake the role of health & safety duties. If you are applying for all SSIP such as CHAS, Constructionline, Safe Contractor, Achilles Registration, or applying for tenders and select lists you will be able to forward a copy of your Retainer Scheme Registration certificate and a copy of your assigned Health & Safety Consultants CV & Qualifications. Membership will entitle you to competent assistance for the timescale of the retainer which will assist with telephone and email support, 1-day complimentary service, and fulfilling and meeting the requirements of accreditation organisations such as Achilles, CHAS, Construction Line, Safe Contractor, etc (if completed with our complimentary free day service per annum). Depending on your scope of service (as set out in your contract), this may be included in the retainer fee, or it may be an additional one-off fee. Other services offered as part of the 1-day services offered is an annual compliance audit, site inspections/project support or 1 day training service supplemented by a certification fee.
